  3. Add the ham, paprika, and salt to taste.
  4. Add the bread, chicken broth, and the egg and cook until a creamy consistency.

Saute garlic in oil until slightly browned. Heat broth and wine until hot but not boiling. Remove bay leaf from pot and puree soup.
